Hi! I am Alyssa Nesseim, BS, and I am a community mentor at Seasons Counseling. I graduated from UW-La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Sociology minor. In addition to my experience working with kids who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, I have also worked in nursing homes with senior citizens who have neurological conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's. While I have enjoyed working with people of various ages, backgrounds, and situations, I am particularly adept with children and young adults. As a mentor, I take pride in getting to know my clients, their families, their passions, and what drives them to reach their full potential. Every person has worth, purpose, and strengths, and I think these qualities are crucial for developing self-assurance, social skills, independence, and a strong work ethic. I like to incorporate mindfulness, outdoor activities, crafts, and games into my approach to develop attention and emotional regulation. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling with my family. I also enjoy reading, baking, Pilates, and playing tennis!
