Hello! My name is Jeremy Muscanero, BS, and I’m a community mentor at Seasons Counseling. I received my Bachelor’s of science in psychology. During my time at Seasons Counseling, I’ve had the privilege of being able to work with clients young, old, and anywhere in between. I started my journey in the mental health field at an Adult Family Home where I co-managed the home and cared for the residents there. One of my favorite experiences was working on call with crisis for Sauk County. It was an honor to be able to meet people at their deepest time of need and to collaborate and advocate with families, doctors, and law enforcement in an effort to obtain the care they needed at that time. Currently, my wife and I have undertaken leading a recovery program and have had the privilege of seeing amazing personal growth in some of the participants! Some of my best skills are empathizing, encouraging, patience, and meeting a person where they are at with the goal of moving into something better. I like to advocate and find new opportunities for my clients and often encourage stepping out of their comfort zone to try something new. My aim is to honor the unique experiences and strengths each person brings and to incorporate those strengths to help them reach their goals. I like to work from a trauma-informed perspective that facilitates healing and leads to progress. Sometimes I think of mentoring like skipping a stone across a lake: it doesn’t need to be perfect, you just want to see movement, one small hop at a time. There’s something mesmerizing about a stone skipping on a lake, and something so exciting about seeing a person make leaps towards their goals! I grew up in the country and have always had a love for the outdoors. Hiking, camping, fishing, and kayaking are all activities I enjoy. I’ve participated in sports in my youth and adulthood. Basketball, baseball, football, and disc golf continue to be favorites of mine. I also like to play guitar, read, and cook meals for my family and others.
